Pacific Energy says Middle Eastern companies are seeking Canadian LNG cargoes, equity and offtake positions as disruption around the Strait of Hormuz reshapes supply-security planning. Woodfibre LNG’s 2.1 million tonnes a year are already contracted to BP and first exports are targeted for December 2027, so current approaches do not represent available spot supply or signed new deals.

Adnoc has taken a $6.2 billion final investment decision to develop the Umm Shaif gas cap, unlocking over 600 million scfd of natural gas and associated liquids. The project, with partners TotalEnergies, Eni and CNPC, includes $5.1 billion in EPC contracts and a 14-well drilling programme, with production expected by 2030.
