Dassault Systèmes confirmed its full-year outlook after reporting second-quarter revenue of 1.56 billion euros, about $1.80 billion, and announced the acquisition of U.S.-based life-sciences software company ArisGlobal for $1.8 billion in cash. An additional $200 million is contingent on future AI-related revenue targets.
The transaction gives the French software group a larger position in life-sciences workflow and regulatory software at a time when its existing life-sciences business has been under pressure. Dassault said the deal is expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
The acquisition is strategic because AI is changing how software companies defend growth, pricing and relevance. ArisGlobal adds a specialized platform in a regulated sector where data management, compliance and workflow automation are central to customer demand.
Dassault's quarterly performance was mixed by segment. Subscription and cloud software supported revenue growth, while the life-sciences division declined and Medidata remained under pressure. Industrial software and cloud products for manufacturers provided stronger momentum.
For investors, the deal creates both opportunity and execution risk. Dassault must integrate ArisGlobal, prove AI-linked revenue can materialize and restore confidence in life sciences while maintaining growth in its industrial software base.
